Big boy from the Meditterranean with a soft and supple side
Despite the recent bad press and tales of declining market and popularity France can still deliver the goods. The prices of top 2005 Bordeaux Classified growths are outrageous and the quality of some wines within lofty and not so lofty appellations inexcreble but when it gets it right no other country can match France for quality, diversity and “terroir”. We deliberately do not have a large portfolio of French wines and we tend to not cover well known appellations as we believe this is not where the action is. We tend to look for small operations with an open mind and a natural but modern approach to winemaking . The wineries that we represent punch well above their weight or appellation and deliver real value for money and above all drinkability.
