Welcome to Novum Wines

Who are Novum Wines? We founded the company 5 years ago with the express intention of sourcing exciting new producers never seen before in the UK. Wherever possible we are the agent and importer of our wines so the wine is coming pretty much directly to you from the winery.

Our wine buyer is Steve Daniel who has over 22 years experience as a professional wine buyer. Seventeen of those years were spent as the head buyer of Oddbins.

Our main role in life is supplying some of the best restaurants in the South of England (and beyond). In the last 5 years we have had many requests from private customers who have tasted our wines in restaurants and wanted to buy them to drink at home. In response to this we decided to offer a selection of our wines to the general public through our brand new website. We hope you will try some of our wines and enjoy them.

Our mission to discover new wineries and new regions continues year in year out…

Our existing producers such as Larry Cherubino in Australia, Perez Cruz in Chile,Sula in India,Andeluna in Argentina have continued to improve quality and produce new wines which have strengthened our range.  We have been working continuously with our producers, encouraging them to improve and experiment. A great deal of our producers now use synthetic closures or stelvin screw caps.  We believe that great wine is made in the vineyard and more and more of our partners are adopting or have already adopted sustainable “organic” methods. 

Steve has long championed the modern wines of Greece and our list would not be complete without  a selection.   We are very pleased to represent three of the finest wineries in Greece. Gaia Estate, Biblia Chora and Alpha Estate. Try them and you will discover a new world of wines. Greece is truly one of the most exciting wine producers in the world at the moment.                                                                                                            

We have an exceptional range of modern Spanish wines and some exceptional suppliers from the rest of the world.

Our boutique producers in the Languedoc Domaine Sainte Croix in Corbieres and La Bouscade have English owners and they are both making mould-breaking wines. 

If all these do not sound eclectic enough you must try some wines from Sula in India. Yes India. They will surprise you in a good way.
